The WiFi signal comes from the Raspberry Pi Zero. There is no Internet connection. Being offline allows for complete privacy and potentially better resilience.

browser as client to connect to server

HTTP as unsafe protocol simply because there is no encryption. Consider sending a postcard by mail, anybody involved can read it.

In order to encrypt the content each server most "prove" who they are. This is done by acquiring a certificate from a certificate authority. Offline there is no such entity. It is also interesting to consider the centralization and its consequence on power.

It is OK to have your own server and consequently accepting self-signed certificate. It should mostly be done only when knowing how it works though, not while doing things online where potentially banking and other important data might leak.

From 2D to VR, showing how the browser in VR is initially just a flat plane. Entering VR means having immersive content. Note that a similar process can be done on other devices, e.g. phone or laptop.
